Bohemian Rhapsody - Winners' Acceptance Speech, Sound, EE British Academy Film Awards in 2019

10 February 2019

Winner's acceptance speech by John Warhurst, Paul Massey, Tim Cavagin and Nina Hartstone for Bohemian Rhapsody in the Sound category

JOHN WARHURST:  Thank you very much to BAFTA and to all our fellow nominees.  We are truly honoured and overjoyed to win this award for best sound.

We owe huge thanks to Graham King and Denis O'Sullivan for the decade they spent putting this film together, and also to Fox and New Regency for backing the film.

Thanks to all the cast and crew, and a personal thanks from us to our own team -- team Bo Rhap, we like to be called -- for all the hard work and late nights.

Finally, there's no way this film would ever have been made if it wasn't for Queen.  Brian May, Roger Taylor and your whole team, thank you for trusting us and all the support, all the way through.

Most importantly, thank you for the awesome music.

PAUL MASSEY:  I would also like to add a very big thank you to John Ottman, our picture editor, everyone at Twickenham Studios for an awesome sound crew, and very personal thank you to Brian May and Roger Taylor.  It was such a privilege to work with you guys.  Thank you very much.  The project of a lifetime.

TIM CAVAGIN:  I would just like to thank everyone at Twickenham again and everyone who has worked on the show, and everyone back home, and my mum and dad.

NINA HARTSTONE:  And finally, happy birthday to Paul Massey.  Thank you very much for throwing this great party for him and for giving him a gift.
