Who Do You Think You Are? - Winner's Acceptance Speech, Features, Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards in 2019

12 May 2019

Winner's acceptance speech by Robert Rinder for Who Do You Think You Are? in the Features category

ROBERT RINDER:  732 child holocaust survivors, refugees, wanted the chance, the gift of this country, my grandfather amongst them.  Some of them weren't children; very often, most of them, including my grandfather lied about his age.

I would like to thank you Wall to Wall, David Vincent and the BBC for reminding me, for reminding us all, of what this country can be, regardless of our political backdrop, what we can all be when we act at our very, very best.

Thank you all so very, very much.

COLETTE FLIGHT:  Thank you.  I just want to say thank you, too, to BAFTA.  It's amazing to win for our 15th series.  To still win awards is great, and it's a tribute to our fantastic, amazing, talented team who work so hard to find all these stories in all the celebrities' family trees.

A huge thank you to all those celebrities who are generous enough to let us dig around in their family trees and find these stories.

A huge thanks to the BBC as well and to our company, Wall to Wall.

Thank you so much.
