Winner's acceptance speech by The Last Survivors team for Single Documentary, given in honour of Robert Flaherty
UNIDENTIFIED : We’re actually delighted to win the award. It was an absolute privilege to make this series and I made it with an extraordinary production team and really wanted to share this moment with Maurice Splik. Maurice is one of the survivors from the film, he’s a sculptor and he lived through Bergan Belsen when he was four years old.
MAURICE SPLIK: It demonstrates how people can go through the most awful atrocities and adversity and still come out at the end with a view of life that is worth living.
