MICHAEL KEATON: This is terrific. He sent me, Emmanuel, Chivo, sent me a little something he would like me to read. He is a true artist is this man. Emmanuel Lubezki's acceptance speech: I would like to thank the British Academy for this wonderful award. He would like to share with the cast and crew of Birdman, he says something very generous about me, and we will go past that, and watching him perform ‑‑ and to my friend ‑‑ well, why not? Watching, sorry, to my friend our director Alejandro, to his courage, his curiosity, and his genius which pushed us to the limits to make this film so unique. He would also like to thank New Regency and Fox Searchlight and I would also like to thank him for being an artist and a mensch and a wonderful, wonderful human being. He is just a genius. This is for Chivo.
