Today, BAFTA confirms plans to bolster its support for the children’s media industry and its year-round learning programmes for the next generation under a new brand, Young BAFTA.

• Budding talent Elsie Adams (10) and Precious Assah (18) win 2023 BAFTA Young Presenters Competition in their respective age categories
• They will both receive a year-long programme of mentoring, industry introductions and interview opportunities
• Full list of nine finalists between 10 and 18 revealed today

• For over a decade, BAFTA has connected young people with experts from the gaming industry, as part of their Young Game Designers competition
   
• Today, the charity has announced 44 talented finalists aged between 10 and 18 
   
• The winners ceremony will be streamed live on BAFTA Kids & Teens YouTube, Thursday 22 June at 17:00 BST, with comedian Inel Tomlinson hosting
   
• Winning games will be displayed at the Science Museum’s Power Up experience

In celebration of Refugee Week, BAFTA and Counterpoints Arts today announce a public screening of Syrian documentary filmmaker and activist Hassan Akkad’s short film Matar on Friday 23 June at 19:00.

• Stars Dermot O’Leary, Clara Amfo, Kit Connor, Big  Zuu, Amita Suman and Dafne Keen sat down with BAFTA’s Young Presenters, aged between 12 and 17, to explore this year’s theme ‘Let’s Connect’
