FIRST YEAR – LOS ANGELES
Thais Drassinower is a Peruvian filmmaker based in Los Angeles. She holds an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University and focuses on bringing honest representation through female driven stories in the big screen.
Her first short “Memories of The Sea" was an official selection at various international film festivals including Palm Springs Shortfest and Aspen Shortsfest. It was acquired by KQED and is currently part of their "Film School Shorts" series. Her second short "Baby" had its World Premiere at the New Orleans Film Festival and was a semifinalist for the 45th Student Academy Awards. Her third short "The Catch" was nominated for "Best Student Short" at Tribeca Film Festival 2020 and got the DAFO Short Film Award given by Peru's Ministry of Culture.
Thais is currently developing her first feature-length film.
