Born and raised in Tel-Aviv, Israel, writer/director Omer Ben-Shachar won a 2019 Student Academy Award for his short film “Tree #3.” The film also won Urbanworld’s Best Young Creator Award, Palm Springs ShortFest’s Audience Award, the Best Student Film Award at HollyShorts, and was nominated for the Television Academy's College Television Awards, among other accolades. Omer is a graduate of the American Film Institute, where he was the recipient of the Richard P. Rogers Spirit of Excellence Award. Omer is currently a 2020 Warner Bros. TV Directors’ Workshop participant, a 2019-20 ViacomCBS’s ViewFinder Emerging Directors Program Fellow for the Nickelodeon network and a BAFTA LA Newcomers Program participant. He was named to Forbes Israel’s 30 Under 30 list in 2020.
