SECOND YEAR – LOS ANGELES
Catherine Wignall is a screenwriter and cat lover from Ellesmere, Shropshire. She has been the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, the Pigott-BAFTA Scholarship, and the Larry Thor Scholarship. She was also a recipient of the Carl David Memorial Fellowship in recognition of her work promoting positive images of LGBTQ life. She made her feature debut in March 2020 with the Blumhouse YA horror-comedy movie CRAWLERS, and has a book-to-TV adaptation in development with Piller/Segan. Catherine set out to be a serious writer who wrote about serious things, but has gradually come to accept that she can’t quite bury her wry sense of humour and is perhaps at least a little funny. She enjoys writing about young women and pop culture, tackling serious subjects in a light-hearted manner, and all with an eye to increasing diversity on the small and big screen. She is represented by Ensemble Entertainment.
