Hello, my name is Alexis Alexanian, and I am a current member of the BAFTA North America Board as well as a seasoned film producer and production executive based in NYC.
I joined the North American Board because I believe in our mission of celebrating and rewarding excellence, honoring industry trailblazers and by creating relevant programs that extend opportunities to new talent who will become the future of the film, games, and television industries.
I’ve taken an active role on the Board in sponsorship and fundraising for BAFTA NA. Having worked for years on the Executive Board and as President of NYWIFT, I enjoy connecting industry leaders, production companies and dynamic brands with the inspiring work and essential programs of industry non-profit organizations.
Most recently, our Board was intimately involved in producing last month’s Special Awards presentation to the inimitable Shonda Rhimes. This event marked the return of BAFTA North America’s in-person award presentations, serving as a more bespoke and intimate evolution of the Britannia Awards. Our goal with this year-round programming of BAFTA Special Awards was to honor those who have made a significant, inspiring, and outstanding contribution to film, television or games, while also inspiring future generations of talent.
We were thrilled to present Shonda with the inaugural Special Award during our exclusive tribute event in New York City, which featured an intimate fireside chat with Shonda and a post-discussion cocktail reception. It was an honor to celebrate the groundbreaking work of Shonda Rhimes with our members, Board and NY industry veterans.
I look forward to continuing my collaboration with our dedicated Board and serving BAFTA NA member across the country.
