BAFTA is seeking a dynamic colleague based in Los Angeles to create greater awareness and for our year-round activities and expanding programs.

BAFTA is a world-leading independent arts charity, with a vision of a world where everyone’s life is culturally and creatively enriched through excellent work in film, games and television. In addition to its Awards ceremonies, BAFTA operates a year-round, program of talent and membership initiatives that offers unique access to some of the world’s most inspiring talent. As a 501c3 nonprofit, BAFTA North America extends the organization’s remit into the US, including award-winning community outreach programs, screenings, seminars, scholarships, mentorship schemes, and archival projects. 

As the scope of our organization continues to grow in North America, BAFTA is seeking support in Los Angeles to create greater awareness and for our year-round activities and expanding programs including the Awards, Celebrations, Membership, Student Awards, Scholarships, Newcomers, Breakthrough and more.

Content & Communications Coordinator 

This focus of the position is to coordinate our content and communications activities to engage effectively with our various audiences, across our programs and work.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Coordination of social media content and activities including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Coordinate social media strategy to raise awareness and engagement for core activities, programs and events.
  • Produce and optimize video and photo content for social media.
  • Online content creation and uploads, including YouTube Videos.
  • Brainstorm and make recommendations for posts to deliver core message objectives.
  • Coordinate social media posting schedule.
  • Manage social media community, including monitoring posts for comments and messages.
  • Compile and report analytics on social media and other web activity for staff, committee, and board review.

Membership & Participants

  • Create event invitation emails
  • Coordinate and create E-Newsletters


  • Creation and upkeep of Website pages including, event listings, news items, photo galleries, and general informational pages. 


  • Design and create flyers and other digital promotional materials. 
  • Coordinate event recordings 
  • Basic editing of recorded content.


  • Monitor email replies and enquiries, and field appropriately. 
  • Deliver campaigns for each program application window and participant announcement.
  • Onsite coordination of content/social coverage for events.
  • Photography archiving and storage.
  • Present our voice as welcoming, inclusive, accessible, and supportive.
  • Write, produce, edit, design and publish content through various media, in collaboration with colleagues and vendors.
  • Ensures programs and activities are positioned with a brand-consistent voice, appropriate to the specific program or audience, across all lines of external communication.
  • The nature of BAFTA’s work and our team-driven and collaborative spirit, will result in additional duties to be fulfilled on an ad hoc basis.

Key requirements:

  • A strong desire to make a positive impact.
  • Superior writing and communication skills
  • Strong understanding and proficiency for Social Media, particularly with experience in writing corporate/non-profit/organization posts.
  • Understanding of creating within branding and editorial guidelines. 
  • Experience in Website content management (Drupal)
  • Proficiency in creating content such as imagery/basic video editing for social media.
  • Experience in using all and any social media support applications and scheduling platforms preferred
  • Intermediate ability on Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere and Photoshop
  • Organizational efficiency.
  • Experience with mass mailing solutions such as Mailchimp.
  • Excellent prioritization and time-management
  • Available to manage work hours effectively and efficiently. 
  • Self-starter
  • A positive, get-it-done attitude
  • Understanding of data use management and confidentiality.
