A former player and long time tennis coach, Threlfall's voice was associated for three decades with the BBC television's coverage of Wimbledon fortnight. A thoughtful and insightful commentator, he joined ITV in the 1950s, had a spell with BBC Radio and latterly covered tennis tournaments around the world for Sky.
