Considered by many to have been the world’s greatest tenor, opera star Pavarotti enjoyed a successful career on stage from the early 1960s onwards. He was part of a television phenomenon at the 1990 World Cup, performing with Placido Domingo and José Carreras as the Three Tenors to great acclaim.
