An iconic stars of Hindi cinema in the 1950s and 60s, Kapoor was born into an acting family but experienced a succession of flops before finding enduring success with Junglee (1961). He remained much in demand thereafter, with highlights including Brahmachari (1968), Vidhata (1982), Hero (1983) and Prem Rog (1982).
