A versatile cinematographer who turned his hand to features, dramas, documentary and factual programmes, Hartley was BAFTA-nominated for his work on The Human Body (1998), From A to B: Tales Of Modern Motoring (1994) and Edwardian Country House (2003). Other credits include Walking With Cavemen (2003) and Primeval (2008).
