Closely associated with the work of Ingmar Bergman, Dahlbeck’s most notable film for him was Smiles of a Summer Night (1955). Other roles came in The Counterfeit Traitor (1962) and Loving Couples (1964). She adapted Woman of Darkness (1966) for the screen and subsequently devoted herself to a writing career.
