The first games-specific BAFTA Connect Forum was held on the 24th of June, bringing together Connect members for a day of networking and learning.

BAFTA Connect Forums are all-day events exclusively for BAFTA Connect-members which aim to educate, encourage conversation as well as facilitate the exchanging of ideas.

The day for games included a programme of talks as well as a networking lunch. The programme focused on the earlier stages of a games production cycle – from building collaborative teams from the outset, to concepting a game worthy of a BAFTA nomination.

The full schedule was as follows:

  • Creating and producing a BAFTA-nominated game with Claire Lim (Presenter), Moo Yu (Creative Director at Team Artichoke) and Caroline Marchal (CEO at INTERIOR/NIGHT)

  • What are games publishers looking for today? with James Batchelor  (Editor-in-Chief, Games Industry.biz) and Meg Clarke (Game Scout at Team17), Guy Richards (Director at ID@Xbox), K.A. Pedersen (Game Scout at Fireshine Games) and Jake Parker (Content Scout at nDreams).

  • Building and leading collaborative teams with Jazenna Mccalums (Presenter), Rosa Carbo-Mascarell (Design Manager at Improbable) and Jodie Azhar (CEO at Teazelcat).

  • Worldbuilding in a games team Zoe Delahunty-Light (Video producer, Eurogamer), Giles Armstrong (Writer, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage), Jeryce Dianingana (Senior Environment Artist at Rocksteady) and Christine Brownell (Franchise Design Director at Media Molecule)
