LIFF - The London Indian Film Festival (18 July – 25 July 2013), in association with BAFTA, presents an invaluable guide to the ever-burgeoning Indian film industry. A must for film industry professionals interested in India-UK co-production, acting in or shooting their next project in India.
The Guru Lounge is an intimate social space where experts from India and the UK will share their knowledge and experience, in a series of informal conversations that encourage audience participation and debate. They will be held at BAFTA for a maximum of 20 people per session but please note that the legal sessions will be in the form of one-to-one surgeries.
If you need some assistance differentiating your DCPs from your KDMs, Andrew Boucher (Santx) and Rob Dunne (Technicolour) are the people who can help! They will be joined by LIFF guest Pawan Kumar (dir LUCIA) who brings a director's learning curve to the process. A jargon-free must for film makers and film event organisers who need to keep ahead of the often confusing world of digital exhibition.
Lee Stone is a partner in the Film Group of the leading UK entertainment law firm, Lee & Thompson LLP. He has been instrumental in developing the firm's expertise in advising the Indian film industry and is widely recognised as the go-to-lawyer for Indian film producers, financiers and distributors wanting to do business in the UK, as a result of which Lee is also regularly instructed by British companies wanting to collaborate with entities from within the Indian film industry.
Lee will hold a series of individual, 20 minute surgeries to discuss your film project. Sign up and come prepared!
First time directors Iram Parveen Bilal (Josh) and Amit Kumar and producer Trevor Ingman (Monsoon Shootout) are joined by British film makers Hammad Khan, Atif Ghani (Anima State) and other LIFF guests to tell it as it is. They will share their experiences, the highs and the lows, of filming in Pakistan and India. This session is aimed at film makers with co-production projects in development.
