22 October 2013
Jake Humphrey

The 2013 Awards were hosted by popular children's television presenter; Jake Humphrey, at the London Hilton, Park Lane on Sunday 24 November.

Following in the foot steps of Barney Harwood, in 2013 we welcomed TV presenter Jake Humphrey to the Children's Awards stage to host the 2013 ceremony for the first time. Humphrey is probably best known for his work in TV journalism presenting BBC Sport's coverage of Formula One. His presenting career however; began in children's TV hosting shows such as CBBC, Newsround and Fame Academy.

We all remember the shows we watched as children...The fact these memories are so strong is a reminder of the deep impact children's programming has on the audience.

When asked for his view on hosting the BAFTA Children's Awards, Jake said; “Presenting the British Academy Children’s Awards is a way for me to say thank you to children's TV for the career it has given me, and I can't wait! We all remember the shows we watched as children; for me it was Pigeon Street, Knightmare, and Live & Kicking. The fact these memories are so strong 25 years later is a reminder of the deep impact children's programming has on the audience.”
