Alexa Jago

Alexa Jago was honoured to be elected to the Board of BAFTA North America by the membership having served on the Board of BAFTA Los Angeles. This year she was elected to the BAFTA UK Film Committee. Last year she was co-chair of BAFTA LA Film Committee.

Jago is a producer, film financier and philanthropist. She executive produced the award-winning feature film Kilo Two Bravo, known in the UK as Kajaki: The True Story which won a BAFTA and a BIFA.

Jago structured a $250mm+ US Studio slate deal through Genesis Media Capital focusing on US Studio film franchises, combining her relationships in Hollywood and London. She started out as an actress, is a member of SAG, British and US Equity and has appeared in over 100 films, television series and plays in London, New York and Los Angeles. She attended Columbia University NY.

Currently Jago is in development on a slate of independent films that is both inclusive and diverse, including a screenplay based on the true-life drama about the plight of the currently exiled Indian Ocean Chagossian islanders with Lyriq Bent.

She sits on the BAFTA AMPAS Selection committee and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Oscar qualifying Hollyshorts Film Festival. She is excited to have been invited to be part of the BAFTA Sustainability Working Group in London which is leading the charge against climate change with Albert. Jago co-founded Caring for Courage for the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards with HRH the Duke of Kent and helped raise funds for the SMILE Appeal for the Royal Academy of Gynecologists & Obstetricians.

Jago’s contribution to the BAFTA NA Board is based on her strong commitment to it’s membership. She brings with her a desire to best represent every member’s needs. She is focused on cohesion and the pursuit of excellence in film through her position on the film committee in London.
