Daisy's Story

Daisy Jacobs, an animator, grew up in a single-parent household in Gosport in Hampshire.

She was awarded a BAFTA Scholarship in 2012 and developed a close working relationship with her mentor animation cinematographer, Tristan Oliver (Fantastic Mr Fox)

Both the scholarship and the mentorship gave Daisy the confidence and means to finish her degree and achieve her potential. She went on to win a BAFTA and was nominated for an Oscar for her short film, The Bigger Picture. 

"I couldn't have made The Bigger Picture without the scholarship. It's as simple as that... It was like winning the lottery.”

Carrying on the legacy of nurturing new talent, Daisy now mentors younger animators as well as working on her own projects.
