YouTube Competition - Terms & Conditions

The competition is run on behalf of and by British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in partnership with YouTube. All entries must be made in accordance with the following competition Terms & Conditions.

Terms & Conditions

The prize draw is open to all UK residents except employees of any company or organisation associated with the prize draw (including without limitation the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and YouTube companies) and their families; the agents of any of the above companies or organisations, their employees and the families of their employees; or any other person associated with this prize draw.

All entries must be made via a Video Response or Comment on the BAFTA YouTube channel ( youtube.com/baftaonline ) or on the official call-out video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHHkeydlHck ). Only three entries are allowed per user.

Only people living within the UK may enter. If you enter from outside the UK your entry will be discounted.

Entrants under the age of 18 on 26 April 2009 will not be allowed to collect the prize unless they can be accompanied to the British Academy Television Awards by a responsible Adult.

All entry instructions form part of the terms and conditions, which, by taking part, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted.

Multiple entries per person are allowed. No purchase necessary.

Prize for two people includes:

  • Travel to and from London (Standard class rail within mainland UK. Flights from NI only, these will be standard class tickets and booked on whichever airline chosen by M&C Saatchi). Travel expenses to be refunded on the 26 April 2009 provided valid receipts are supplied to the Promoter.
  • London hotel accommodation (bed & breakfast only).
  • Tickets to the British Academy Television Awards including Red Carpet access and seats in the Royal Festival Hall to watch the ceremony.
  • All additional expenses are not included and must be paid by Prize Winner (eg. bar bills, meals, telephone calls)

The closing date for the draw to win the tickets is 6pm (GMT) on Thursday 23 April 2009. The winning entry will be chosen by BAFTA’s YouTube red carpet presenter on Thursday 23 April 2009.

The winner will be notified by Friday 24 April 2009 via their user account on YouTube.
BAFTA accepts no responsibility for entries not received. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Incomplete and late entries will not be accepted.

In the event that any winner is unable for any reason to accept a prize, cannot be contacted by 24 April 2009 or has not responded in a timely fashion, BAFTA reserves the right to award the prize to another participant who will be selected from all other eligible entries received.

Prizes are not transferable and no cash alternative is available.

The decision made by BAFTA is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
BAFTA reserves the right (a) to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value (b) alter the competition question after the competition has opened and (c) in exceptional circumstances to vary, amend or withdraw this prize draw on reasonable notice.

BAFTA reserves the right to publish the name of the winning entrant on the BAFTA website and on YouTube. The prize winner’s name will be available on request sending a SAE to BAFTA and specifying which competition you are enquiring about. Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party. View our Privacy Policy .
