Step 3 of designing your game

THE MARKETING BIT:
MAKING 11-16 YEAR-OLDS WANT TO BUY YOUR GAME

Name the game

The name could describe the game, or could suggest it without being specific. Choose a name that will make your target age range of 11-16 year-olds want to know more!

Marketing blurb

What’s your one-sentence description of the game for the back of the box? Use no more than 25 words to ‘sell’ your game to your target audience. Look at the back of games boxes you own for inspiration.

Remember that for 11-16s to be able to play it, the PEGI rating must be no more than 12. Find out about the PEGI rating system here www.pegi.eu

Unique Selling Points (USPs)

What makes your game different from other games on the market? Do as much research as you can on other games for 11-16 year-olds to be sure that yours isn’t too similar to an existing game. The BAFTA judges will be looking for fresh, new ideas.
