NORMAL PEOPLE Adapted by Sally Rooney alongside writers Alice Birch and Mark O’Rowe, from Rooney’s novel of the same name, Normal People tracks the tender but complicated relationship of Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell (Paul Mescal), from the end of their school days in small-town west of Ireland to their undergraduate years at Trinity College.
The 12 x 30’ series is produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Emma Norton and Anna Ferguson for Element Pictures (The Favourite, Dublin Murders), and directed by Lenny Abrahamson (Room, Frank) and Hettie MacDonald (Howard’s End).
Normal People will land as a boxset on BBC Three via iplayer on Sunday 26 April, and will air with weekly double episodes on BBC One at 9pm from Monday 27 April.
