Rosamund Pike Selects - Zero Dark Thirty

Rosamund Pike Selects
Friday, 16 November 2018 - 7:00pm
Princess Anne Theatre, 195 Piccadilly, London
Rosamund Pike discusses Kathryn Bigelow’s controversial intelligence thriller Zero Dark Thirty, nominated for five BAFTA Film awards including Best Film and Best Director.

Rosamund Pike’s genius for fusing glamour with intrigue has seen her play a duplicitous MI6 agent (Die Another Day, 2002), an imperilled attorney (Jack Reacher, 2012), and a scheming fugitive (Gone Girl 2014) for which she received a BAFTA nomination.  Rosamund’s forthcoming portrayal of doomed war correspondent Marie Colvin (A Private War, February 2019) chimes with her selection here of controversial man-hunt drama Zero Dark Thirty (2012).

The first female director to ever win the BAFTA for Best Director (The Hurt Locker 2008), Kathryn Bigelow followed it up with Zero Dark Thirty, a tense thriller dramatizing the decade-long search for Al Quaeda supremo Osama bin Laden. Reprising her collaboration with screenwriter Mark Boal, Bigelow casts Jessica Chastain as ‘Maya’, a CIA graduate learning her tradecraft in the turbulent secret mission to Pakistan.

Siobhan Sinnerton, Commissioning Editor for News and Current Affairs and Immersive Content at Channel 4, will be hosting this event.
