Broadcaster and journalist Rick Edwards delves into the science behind British indie hit Ex Machina (2014), nominated for five BAFTAs including Best British Film.

Alex Garland’s directorial debut follows computer programmer Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson) who wins a chance to spend the week with enigmatic CEO Nathan (Oscar Isaac), in his luxurious but isolated home.

Following a screening of the film, science enthusiast Rick Edwards will be joined on stage by broadcaster and consultant writer for The New Scientist, Dr. Michael Brooks, and Andrew Whitehurst, overall VFX Supervisor on the film.
