Kayode Ewumi Selects The Mask

Saturday, 13 May 2017 - 6:30pm
Princess Anne Theatre, BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, London
A screening of The Mask followed by a Q&A with Breakthrough Brit Kayode Ewumi on comedy, acting, writing and how the superhero fantasy comedy influenced his early career.

Continuing our celebration of BAFTA at 70, we’re giving a shout out to Kayode Ewumi who’ll be joining us on stage to discuss breaking into the industry, acting and his YouTube mockumentary hit, #HoodDocumentary.

Hosted by television and radio presenter Remel London.

We will be screening the brilliantly manic, super hero, comedy fantasy The Mask (1994) starring Jim Carrey, before the onstage Q&A.  Nominated for three BAFTA Awards, including Best Special Visual Effects, The Mask has been specially chosen by Kayode as the film which has most influenced his career so far.

BAFTA is a long standing supporter of new talent and applications for this year’s Breakthrough Brits are now open. Please visit http://www.bafta.org/supporting-talent for more information on this and other exciting new talent opportunities.
