Preview: Against the Law + Q&A with Brian Fillis and Fergus O'Brien

We're working with one of our Festival Partners, Iris Prize, to bring you a preview screening of Against the Law followed by a Q&A with Director Fergus O'Brien (Inside Harley Street, Life After Suicide, Stephen Fry: out there), and Writer Brian Fillis (Tatau, Sirens, Excluded). Against the Law is BBC2's new factual drama starring Mays and Mark Gatiss that dramatises the events that led to the 1967 Sexual Offences Act which decriminalised homosexual acts in England and Wales. We'll also be showing Daisy & D - the latest short film from Iris Prize winner Arkasha Stevenson.

Screening: Y Syrcas

As part of the Pontio Circus Festival, we'll be screening Kevin Allen's (Twin Town) Welsh language period film Y SYRCAS. A unique film for all the family. Set in 1848, it tells the story of a young girl who is bewitched by the excitement of the travelling circus as it visits her small town in west Wales.

Preview: Canaries screening + Q&A + Summer Networking Drinks (Swansea)

The perfect opportunity to celebrate Summer and network with your industry peers over a complimentary glass of PIMM's followed by a screening of the new feature film Canaries. Shot in various locations across the Globe including Lower Cwmtwrch, Vietnam and Martha's Vineyard, Canaries is a comedy drama in the same vein as Shaun of the Dead and Attack the Block and stars a host of well-known Welsh actors including BAFTA Cymru winners Aled Pugh and Robert Pugh. This event is exclusively for our members and invited guests of the cast and crew only.

Screening: White Helmets + Q&A

Join us for a screening of the Oscar-winning The White Helmets - a documentary which follows the daily operations of a group of volunteer rescue workers of the Syrian Civil Defense. The event will include a specially-recorded interview with the film's producer Joanna Natasegara (Cardiff University alumni) and will be followed by a Q&A.
