Davis’ on-screen breakthrough came when she starred alongside Meryl Streep, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams in the drama Doubt (2008) for which she received several award nominations, including an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 2009.
Other credits include The Help (2011), James Brown biopic Get On Up (2014), Lila and Eve (2015) which she also co-produced and the upcoming film adaptation of 1983 play Fences, directed by and starring Denzel Washington.
