Meet the Producers - North Wales

An opportunity to Meet the Producers of 4 of Wales' leading production companies - Antena, Chwarel, Cwmni Da and Rondo.

Hosted by Luned Whelan (TAC), the event will offer a chance to hear from senior-level representatives from each of the companies to find out more about their plans for the year ahead and join us afterwards for networking drinks with these key decision-makers.  

Antena has been based in North Wales since 1988, formerly known as Dime Goch. Their recent productions have been documentaries, boxing, voicing cartoons and youth programming, namely Ochr1 and Y Lle. Antena is part of Hansh and is producing short form material to be shown on the web, before transferring to traditional broadcasting. Antena’s innovative staff also provide live and interactive content for the web.

Chwarel produces programmes for the home and international markets. Television series include Ward Plant (S4C), Banking on Benefits (BBC1 Wales), The Horse Hoarder (C4) and Hotel Stephanie (co-production with Mentorn). In 2016, the company's Ysbyty Cyw Bach was nominated for the UNESCO Prix Jeunesse.

Cwmni Da's national and international output includes factual (Pethe, Fferm Factor Byw Yn Yr Ardd), children’s (RhyfeddOd), comedy (BAFTA winning Dim Byd), entertainment (Sioe Tudur Owen), drama (Blodau, Sombreros), lifestyle, events and sports programmes. A major producer for national Welsh language broadcaster S4C, Cwmni Da also produces content for the BBC and C4  and has a successful track record in the international co-production market. 

Rondo Media boasts a rich heritage of highly acclaimed drama productions including the award winning drama series Rownd a Rownd (S4C), The Indian Doctor (BBC One/ international distribution by Content Media) and Gwlad yr Astra Gwyn (S4C). The company is also a proud producer of several powerful and insightful documentaries including My Tattoo Addiction (a series for Channel 4/ international sales BBC Worldwide) and most recently Matt Johnson: Iselder a Fi (S4C).
