In Spring 2017, BBC Studios (the BBC’s main TV production arm) appointed Simon Winstone as Head of Drama - Wales, to lead its world-class drama series and serials business, based at Roath Lock in Cardiff. BBC Studios can now make programmes for other broadcasters and channels in the UK and internationally, as well as the BBC.

Simon has outstanding experience; contributing to the success of two of the BBC's biggest programmes over the years – both EastEnders and Doctor Who.  He worked with Red Planet Pictures; first as Head of Drama (Wales), then Head of Development, and, most recently, as Executive Producer. Simon’s other impressive producer credits include Death In Paradise, By Any Means, and Dickensian.
