Digital Innovation in BBC Drama

The 2019 Dewi Vaughan Owen Keynote Speech. The way in which we consume content is changing fast. To stay relevant, even the biggest brands need to innovate. Jo Pearce, the Digital Creative Director of some of the biggest BBC Dramas will give you an insight into how brands like Doctor Who, Sherlock, Peaky Blinders and many more drive innovation to stand out and gain new audiences. Following Jo's speech there will be a performance from the National Video Game Orchestra of Wales.

17.30 onwards - sign up for a slot to try the new Doctor Who Runaway VR experience in room 0.18. Staff and signage will be on hand to direct you from reception. Step inside the TARDIS with the Doctor in this animated, interactive story from the Doctor Who team. A 13-minute VR adventure from the team behind Doctor Who Series 11.

18.30 - The Annual Dewi Vaughan Owen Keynote speech from Jo Pearce

Jo will detail how using Social and VR Platforms to develop content can  provide experiences linear production cannot. She will detail the scripting considerations that happen in the early stages of development and the technique of how to keep engagement levels high. The media landscape is constantly expanding - this session will give you an insight into the exciting opportunities ahead, for content makers that thrive on change and will ready you for that challenge.

19:30 - National Video Game Orchestra of Wales performance 

The REPCo Video Game Orchestra present their second concert in the Level Up! series, focusing on music from major adventure-themed games including The Legend of Zelda, Skyrim, the Fallout series, Alan Wake and more!
