Career Clever: Ryan Eddleston on Cinematography

The next in our Career Clever series, which offers students and career starter members a chance to hear about the career development of individuals in key industry roles.

After graduating from Cardiff University in Journalism, Film & Media, Ryan started shooting documentaries and won a BAFTA Cymru Award for The Poet Who Loved The War: Ivor Gurney. 

Moving onto feature films, he shot Black Mountain Poets which was nominated for a BIFA and screened at SXSW, and went on to shoot Prevenge (dir: Alice Lowe) which screened at Toronto, Venice, BFI LFF & SXSW, and last year shot The Fight (dir: Jessica Hynes), one of Peter Bradshaw's picks of the BFI London Film Festival.

He's worked with directors Dolly Wells, Jacob Anderson, Rhiana Yazzie, Toby Cameron, Jen Sheridan, Naomi Waring & Claire Fowler, shooting 5 feature films, several short films & a TV series, that are in post production or on the festival circuit.

Ryan will talk about his creative process as well as his career path so far and his tips for developing a career as a cinematographer.
