Being a Breakthrough Brit (+ screening of Ellen)

Meet 2 of the talented newcomers selected as BAFTA Breakthrough Brits in 2017 - cinematographer Chloe Thomson and writer Sarah Quintrell - along with a chance to see their BAFTA Cymru-winning film Ellen. Hosted by BAFTA's Director of Learning & New Talent - Tim Hunter.

Breakthrough Brits, in partnership with Burberry, showcases and supports the next generation of British creative talent in film, television and games. 

Successful Breakthrough Brits receive non-voting membership of BAFTA for a year, giving them free access to BAFTA events and screenings and to the member’s space at 195 Piccadilly. In addition, BAFTA supports each Breakthrough Brit by working with them to create a tailored year of support, mentoring and career development.

Synopsis: Ellen

A tearaway teenage girl trying to take control of her life forms an amazing and unbreakable bond with a new friend. But can Ellen avoid becoming just another statistic?

The cast includes Jessica Barden (Penny Dreadful), Jaime Winstone (Made in Dagenham, Kidulthood) and Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones).
