As part of our charitable remit to celebrate, inform and inspire, BAFTA Cymru is committed to raising the profile of Welsh film, games and TV talent around the world. We have achieved this with high-profile events in New York, Sheffield and London since 2015, which have celebrated films, television programmes and individuals - events which have created new fans, interested supporters in our 100+ events a year across Wales and inspired the next generation.
This year, we will be celebrating the cast and crew behind the new Welsh feature film Apostle (Netflix) which will be released later in 2018. Starring Dan Stevens, BAFTA winners Michael Sheen, Mark Lewis Jones and Elen Rhys and shot on location in South Wales, the film is produced by Severn Screen and directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid).
The Q&A will include the first screening of selected excerpts from this new film and a Q&A with director Gareth Evans, producer Ed Talfan (Hidden/Hinterland), Michael Sheen, Mark Lewis Jones (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, National Treasure, Stella), Elen Rhys (Broadchurch, Ordinary Lies) and DOP Matt Flannery. Hosted by Jason Solomons.
The year is 1905. Thomas Richardson travels to a remote island to rescue his sister after she’s kidnapped by a mysterious religious cult demanding a ransom for her safe return. It soon becomes clear that the cult will regret the day it baited this man, as he digs deeper and deeper into the secrets and lies upon which the commune is built.
We are offering public tickets to attend the Q&A with cast and crew of Apostle only from 7pm - 8:30pm, which are available priced at £20pp including VAT.
Guests also have the option to purchase tickets with access to the event above, pre-drinks reception and Gala Dinner with silent auction. For further information about these tickets click here
