The National Eisteddfod, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and the Sinemaes Partnerships are pleased to release details of the timetable for the Drama Village at the National Eisteddfod which will include Caffi’r Theatrau, Cwt Drama, Sinemaes and Theatr y Maes.
The drama village will once again be sponsored by Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and the programme includes theatrical performances for all ages, panel discussions films, competitions, lectures and street theatre.
Sinemaes is an exciting new development to the Drama village and will be co-ordinated by BAFTA Cymru, Film Hub Wales, Into Film, Ffilm Cymru Wales, BFI NET.WORK, The Royal Television Society, Wales Screen, ITV Cymru Wales, S4C, The National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales, TAC, Gorilla and Trosol.
Over 50 events have been programmed including film screenings, a couple of premieres, Q&A sessions, workshops, discussions, the chance to meet filmmakers and get advice on working in the creative industries. There will also be an opportunity to view archive programmes including Welsh BAFTA winners as the charity celebrates the25th anniversary of the Cymru Awards.
Amongst the highlights of the week will be the chance to learn more about the new Film ‘Y Llyfrgell’ and a chance to watch a preview of the new series of ‘Parch’ with author Fflur Dafydd and others; a showing of 70s Welsh cult classic Gwaed ar y Sêr accompanied with a live set by H Hawkline; reading from the new script based on Tony ac Aloma and the premiere of new horror short films.
