BAFTA Cymru has teamed up with Microsoft and Nokia to present an exciting opportunity to budding Game App Developers in Wales.
The ‘Power Up’ competition, invites developers in Wales to create a game app for the Microsoft Windows 8 marketplace. In teams of up to 5 people, there is no limit to the number of game apps that can be submitted. All entries will then be judged by a panel of experts from BAFTA, Microsoft, Nokia and other leading lights from the online games industry.
The shortlisted finalists will then be invited to an Awards Ceremony hosted at Dolby’s London HQ in October 2013. In addition to the awards ceremony itself; there will be a chance to discover the latest audio technologies and listen to a guest speaker discussing the challenges involved in delivering a great audio experience. The winning team will receive a Prize Pack of goodies including a Windows 8 Smartphone, a Microsoft Kinect, an Xbox Games Bundle and a Nokia Developer Account.
Dewi Vaughan Owen, Chair of BAFTA Cymru said: “Our ambition is to help make Wales one of the best places in the UK to do games business and, as an Academy, ensure that we recognise and celebrate the very best work of our emerging talent”.
