Nominations announced for the British Academy Cymru Award for Games

The Academy today announced the nominations for the British Academy Cymru Award for Games sponsored by Cyfle.

The shortlisted nominations are:

Cirkits: Toy Robot Racing (Cohort Studios)
Go Candy (A Sitting Duck Ltd / Wales Interactive Ltd)
Vectrex (Rantmedia Games)

This year’s ceremony will also include the presentation of 4 special commendations in the categories of: Game Design, Artistic Achievement, Technical Achievement and Sound and Music. The nominees and winners of these commendations, along with the winner of the British Academy Cymru Award for Games, will be announced during a ceremony which this year takes place at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff on Wednesday 26 June.

The event coincides with Digital Cardiff Week and forms part of the Wales Games Development Show which is supported by the Welsh Government and MEDIA Antenna Wales. BAFTA Cymru will also be hosting a day of games industry panel sessions from the likes of the BBC, UK Interactive Entertainment and Creative Skillset. Over 50 companies will exhibit their latest games and interactive projects.

Industry delegate passes are currently on sale, priced £20.00. Passes include access to all exhibition areas, all industry seminars and entry to the presentation of the British Academy Cymru Award for Games and drinks reception.
