As part of the BAFTA Group and in line with our charitable status, our principal objectives remain firmly focused on delivering a year-round programme of events and screenings that support, develop and inspire the art forms of the moving image throughout Wales.

Our expanding programme of events range from major industry debates to pre-release screenings of film and TV productions in both Welsh and English languages.

During the last twelve months, BAFTA Cymru has successfully developed extensive relationships with festivals and creative organisations throughout Wales to produce stand alone events. These events have offered a unique insight to a broad array of creative fields and our continuing aim is to bring the very best talent, films, programmes and master class sessions from Wales and beyond to our members and the general public. BAFTA Cymru continues to programme regular pre-release film screenings for Members.

Only BAFTA Cymru Full/Branch Members can vote in the annual BAFTA Cymru Awards. Voting Members are responsible for the selection of entries that proceed through to the Jury Stage of the voting process. In addition, all voting members have the right to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting and for the election of the BAFTA Cymru Management Committee. All voting for the Annual Awards now takes place via an ONLINE VOTING system.

All members receive regular invitations to attend preview screenings and other special events and premieres throughout the year, either organised by BAFTA Cymru or in collaboration with other events/organisations. Members are offered free entry to all BAFTA Cymru events/screenings. Cineworld Cinemas currently offer free cinema entry to Members Monday – Thursday in addition to discounted cinema entry from Chapter Arts Centre for all Members. Regular preview screenings currently take place in Cineworld Cinema and Chapter Art Centre in Cardiff in addition to special previews at venues throughout Wales.
