Membership in Wales

This category is available through BAFTA to individuals who:

• Are based in Wales and have worked full-time for at least five years in a creative, technical or executive role directly related to the production of feature films, video games, and television programming broadcast in the UK.
• Have made a significant contribution to their sector of the industry.

These members are entitled to:

• all rights of benefits of membership and BAFTA
• additional rights and benefits with BAFTA in Wales.
• entitled to attend BAFTA screenings and events in Wales and elsewhere in the UK at no or reduced cost.

Full membership applications will be considered annually and are awarded at the discretion of the BAFTA UK membership committees. Please note places are very limited.

The annual deadline for Full membership is 31 March.

This category is available to those who:

• Have a minimum of 3 years professional experience in the film, television or interactive media industries or in any field directly related to them (e.g. Research, acting or teaching).
• Are not eligible for Full BAFTA membership, or are not interested in the additional benefits of Full membership.

These members are entitled to:

• Voting rights for the British Academy Cymru Awards. In addition, all voting members have the right to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting and for the election of the Management Committee of BAFTA in Wales.

• Attend preview screenings and other special events and premieres in Wales throughout the year, either organised by BAFTA in Wales or in collaboration with other events/organisations. Members are offered free entry to all BAFTA events, screenings, talks and masterclasses in Wales.

• Free cinema entry in Cineworld , Odeon and VUE Cinemas.Discounted cinema entry in Chapter, Cardiff. All Members receive advance notification of all events/screenings via email.

• Purchase tickets at special rates for the annual British Academy Cymru Awards Ceremony.

Reduced COUNTRY rate: BRANCH membership
*Applies to people living and working more than 50 miles outside Cardiff. Criteria as for BRANCH membership above.

This category is offered to all students who are pursuing a full time course in media related studies in Wales. Please provide evidence of Student Status.

These members are entitled to:

• Attend preview screenings and other special events and premieres in Wales throughout the year, either organised by BAFTA in Wales or in collaboration with other events/organisations. Members are offered free entry to all BAFTA events, screenings, talks and masterclasses in Wales.
• Free cinema entry in Cineworld , Odeon and VUE Cinemas. Discounted cinema entry in Chapter, Cardiff. All Members receive advance notification of all events/screenings via email.
