Nominees for the upcoming 22nd annual British Academy Cymru Awards were celebrated with a glamorous party held at Cardiff Park Plaza’s Kuku Club.
Well-known faces from television and film mingled with key representatives from Wales’ creative and media industries at the event, which was hosted by BAFTA Wales and sponsored by Champagne Taittinger, NEP Cymru and Park Plaza Cardiff.

Nominees in attendance included Mali Harries (nominated for Best Actress, The Indian Doctor), Sara Lloyd-Gregory (nominated for Best Actress, Alys), Rhodri Meilir (nominated for Best Actor, Gwlad yr Astra Gwyn) and Justin Davies (nominated for the Breakthrough Award, Stella).

Guests were treated to a Champagne Taittinger drinks reception and a rousing musical performance by guitarist, Dewi Griffiths.

Allison Dowzell, BAFTA Wales Director said: “It was great to see so many of this year’s nominees coming together to celebrate their achievements in being nominated for these prestigious awards. The party was a great success and fitting prelude to the main event”.

The award winners will be announced at a star-studded ceremony hosted by television presenters Matt Johnson and Sian Lloyd at Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff on Sunday 29 September 2013.
