With the Queen's Diamond Jubilee just around the corner there's never been a better time to make a real statement with regal jewellery. It's all about bold colours and large stones this summer to give that look of luxury. Emerald, sapphire and canary yellow coloured stones are set to be the big red carpet jewellery trends this season.

Scott Thompson, Founder & Creative Director of CARAT* explains; "Its all about the earrings as always but with a strong come back from Grand Necklaces on the red carpets this year. We are obviously glad to see the big pieces are back, particularly daring clusters and sophisticated drop earrings. Colours are very versatile with blue hues from sapphire to amethyst, Emerald Greens and Canary yellows. Perfect for a glamorous summery look."

Red carpet fashion tips...

Her elegant, full-length gown in a soft shade of sage green that beautifully compliments her autumnal colouring. Her slim figure suits this empire line style, which must be avoided at all costs if you have a tummy, as it can look like a maternity dress. Katherine however, looks glamorous and refined. The length of the dress elongates her and the soft, lightly gathered fabric adds femininity. Katherine Parkinson at the 2011 Television Awards She looks effortlessly stylish in this long, black evening dress. It has enough structure to show her great hourglass figure, and the one-shoulder neckline brings a classic style dress up to date. Black is such a great colour, as it always looks chic and classy, but watch out if you have a warm skin tone, as black can be draining. Try opting for a dark navy or midnight blue as an alternative. Ashley Jensen at the 2010 Television Awards Angellica Bell has cleverly chosen a dress with a deep V neckline that emphasises her bust. The sequined top also adds a touch of sparkle and glamour to the look. The empire line of the dress cuts underneath her bust, fitting neatly around her smallest part and skimming her slim hips. This style gives a long lean look as the skirt starts high up under the bust and continues to the floor. Opt for a style like this if you are petite, as it will elongate you. The soft shade of silver works well with Angellica's warm colouring. Avoid if you have a cool skin tone, or it could bring out the blue undertones in your skin. Angellica Bell at the 2010 Television Awards This stunning, deep red gown is well fitted, but does not over-reveal due to the delicately ruched fabric on the bust and hips. The belted waist and low skirt flare both help to enhance her curvy figure and give a beautiful silhouette. Patsy has chosen not to accessorise this dress because it is striking enough on its own. When picking a gown in a statement colour, be careful not to over embellish it with accessories. Keep them classic to complement your dress. Patsy Kensit-Healy at the 2009 Television Awards This cream coloured dress and matching jacket is incredibly sophisticated. June is the perfect example of a lady who dresses elegantly for her age. The flare at the bottom of the jacket gives the illusion of hips to June’s slim figure, and the tailored pencil skirt shows off her long legs. The cream colour works very well with June complexion, as she has a warm skin tone and dark eyes. Steer clear of cream or very pale pastels if you have very fair colouring, as it can easily wash you out. June Brown at the 2009 Television Awards
