Romeo Mika-Kadia | BAFTA Kirsh Scholarship

Romeo Mika, aged 22 from North London has been awarded the Kirsh scholarship of £9,250 to support his studies for the BA (Hons) in Professional Acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Romeo is being mentored by Anthony Welsh.

The Bafta scholarship allows me to dedicate myself further to my craft

Prior to Lamda, Romeo used the facilities at Lift and Platform Islington as his informal training ground. He was also part of Company Three and Open door. All of the above was at his disposal because of arts council funding as well as the support of all those he has met on his journey so far.

Romeo said: “The Bafta scholarship allows me to dedicate myself further to my craft and developing myself as an artist. I have the luxury of just being a student now without worrying about financial constraints. I fully intend on taking advantage of everything Bafta has to offer me. What a time to be alive!”
