Millie Farquhar | BAFTA Scholarship

Millie Farquhar, 24, has been awarded £5,000 to support her Diploma in Assistant Directing & Floor Managing at NFTS. Millie is being mentored by George Walker.

I feel incredibly honoured to be supported by such an incredible organisation and have access to their resources

Millie is from a Military family so grew up moving around the UK; she currently lives in Reading. She has just finished studying English Literature at the University of Reading, which she self-financed by working three jobs alongside her studies. She fell in love with the world of film by volunteering at the National Film and Television school and freelancing within locations departments on feature films such as Ready Player One, American Assassin and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Millie said: "I do not know how to put my gratitude for BAFTA into words. This scholarship will help me realise my dreams within the film industry. And allow me to concentrate on my course and developing my skills as an Assistant Director and Floor Manager without having to worry about funding as I have had to in the past. I feel incredibly honoured to be supported by such an incredible organisation and have access to their resources. I look forward to the next year of my life and I cannot wait to make the most of this incredible opportunity."
