Cordelia Lawler | Prince William Scholarship

Cordelia Lawler, 26 years old, was educated in West London and at Bournemouth Film School. Cordelia is mentored by Chloe Thomson.

A mentorship is an invaluable resource in the process of turning my cinematography work into a successful career

Cordelia is avid viewer of international cinema and has a strong interest in learning foreign languages, particularly French and Japanese. She is long-time volunteer for a British-Japanese charity, which seeks to change rape law in Japan. She spent a year living and working in Paris. She was very fortunate to have spent a year as a Camera trainee, most recently on The Crown, learning under a fantastic crew of film industry veterans. Cordelia is delighted to have been accepted onto the Cinematography MA at the NFTS, and is eager to start learning and creating in such a prestigious environment.

Cordelia said: “I am absolutely beaming at receiving a BAFTA scholarship. I am grateful for this period of my life in which I have the freedom to create what I choose, but I am actively seeking constructive criticism - a mentorship is an invaluable resource in the process of turning my cinematography work into a successful career. The financial help is life-changing and the opportunity to be part of BAFTA is truly an honour."
