Bonnie Chen | Actress and Director

Bonnie Chen is a former fashion model currently pursuing a new path as an impassioned filmmaker, studied filmmaking at New York University, New York Film Academy and School of Visual Arts. In 2019, Bonnie wrote and directed her first short film Clover, a production where she explores the tensions between a mother and daughter. Through her unique vision and original perspective, Bonnie deeply touched on the power of love, femininity and forgiveness. This critically acclaimed production was also shortlisted by the ARFF Amsterdam. In addition, Bonnie has also played parts in numerous Chinese television series, such as Yolk Man, Dear One and Youth Fight.   

In addition to her talent and aspirations in film, Bonnie Chen is a supermodel, philanthropist and former Rhythmic Gymnastics Chinese national champion. She has been named as The Hottest Model of The Year by ELLE, was the first Asian face to appear in American Vogue and has walked the runways of fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton. In 2011, she founded Star Bunny Love, a non-profit group that hosts charity flea markets, fashion shoots and exhibitions to raise funds for children with disabilities. Bonnie strives to tell meaningful stories through film that can heal and inspire, while bridging the gap between the East and the West.
