The first Britannia Award was presented in 1989 to pioneering James Bond Producer Albert R “Cubby” Broccoli. Almost 20 years later, the annual BAFTA/LA Britannia event is now firmly established as a highlight in the Hollywood social calendar and attended by an array of A-list talent.
Last year, the event was hosted by Martin Sheen and honoured six Britannia Award recipients: Denzel Washington, Martin Campbell, Kate Winslet, Richard Curtis and New Line’s Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne. Presenters included host Michael Sheen, Kathy Bates, Pierce Brosnan, Jodie Foster, Famke Janssen, Bill Nighy, Reese Witherspoon and Julia Roberts.
