Henry Normal

Henry Normal has been responsible for creating, writing, executive producing and script-editing some of the best and most award winning television comedy of the last 15 years, including Coogan’s Run, The Mighty Boosh, Gavin & Stacey, Nighty Night, Ideal, The Trip and the recent Alan Partridge TV hit, Mid Morning Matters. He is also behind the new Alan Partridge movie, Alpha Papa, and was executive producer on hit films 24 Hour Party People, The Parole Officer and A Cock And Bull Story. Henry was born in Nottingham and his entertainment career began as a poet and stand-up comedian in the mid-Eighties, before going on to write for The Fast Show and co-creating the BAFTA award winning Mrs Merton Show and The Royle Family with Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash, and the Paul and Pauline Calf characters with Steve Coogan.

Since 1999, Henry Normal has run Baby Cow Productiions, the company he set up with Steve Coogan, which has become synonymous with cutting edge successful British comedy, working with many of the UK’s top comic performers including Caroline Aherne, Johnny Vegas, Rob Brydon, Julia Davis and of course Steve Coogan. In this exciting masterclass, Henry will show clips of many of his shows and discuss how he has built one of the most creative and successful production companies in the UK.
