British Academy Scotland Awards 2013: Special Achievement Awards for Kirsty Wark and Steven Begg

This year BAFTA Scotland will present the Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting to Kirsty Wark, and the Outstanding Contribution to Craft in 2013 will be presented to visual effects supervisor Steven Begg.

Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting: Kirsty Wark

BAFTA Scotland is delighted to announce that we will be honouring Kirsty Wark with the award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting at this year’s British Academy Scotland Awards, which takes place on Sunday 17 November. Kirsty has been a major presence on our screens since the 1980’s and is one of the leading British broadcasters of her generation. BAFTA Scotland is thrilled to present her with this award, which she will receive at a glittering ceremony in the Radiosson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.


Outstanding Contribution to Craft (In Memory of Robert McCann): Steven Begg

We will also be giving the award for Outstanding Contribution to Craft (in memory of Robert McCann) to visual effects supervisor, Steven Begg. Steven’s credits include the Bond films Casino Royale and Skyfall, as well as The Golden Compass, The Wolfman and the Lara Croft Tom Raider movies. He is one of the leading visual effects supervisors working in film today and BAFTA Scotland is delighted to be able to honour him with this award.
