The British Academy Scotland Awards will take place Sunday 13 November 2011
Eligibility and Rules for the British Academy Scotland Awards including Awards Information and Entry Form.
The British Academy Scotland Awards will take place Sunday 13 November 2011 at the Radisson Blu in Glasgow.
The British Academy Scotland Awards are presented annually to recognise, honour and reward individuals for their outstanding achievement in Scotland's moving image industries within the awards year.
Entries should satisfy two of the three following criteria:
1. The production company has a substantive business and production base in Scotland. A base will be taken to be substantive if it is the usual place of employment of senior executives and personnel involved in the production.
2. At least 70%(television/game) / 50%(film) of the production budget (excluding the cost of onscreen talent, archive material and copyright costs) was spent in Scotland and/or on Scottish production talent.
3. At least 50% of the production talent (not on screen talent) must have their usual place of employment within Scotland. This has to cover a minimum of 4 out of the following 9 areas: Director; Producer; Writer; Line Producer/Production Manager; HOD-Art; Sound; Cameras; Post production; Composer. For Factual entries, up to two roles may be replaced by Editor and/or Assistant Producer.
Individual entrants for performance categories must be considered Scottish and will be eligible for performances or contributions to programmes or films, which satisfy the above criteria.
Entrants into the individual performance categories will be considered Scottish by meeting one or more of the following criteria; Scottish place of birth, parentage (one/both parents to be Scottish or residency (resident for a minimum of 3 years).
Recut, re-versioned, renamed or repeated productions are not eligible. Each entry must be a complete programme/film/game - inserts are not eligible.
Part of the Academy's remit is to promote excellence to a large an audience as possible. In order to fulfill this, we may make clips of the nominated programmes for the British Academy Scotland Awards available to the public on the website wwww.bafta.org/scotland
All entries must have been broadcast on either a terrestrial or digital channel between 31 August 2009 and 31 August 2011.
All entries must have been released in Scotland between 31 August 2009 and 31 August 2011.
All entries must have had a theatrical release (for at least seven days) or been screened at an approved festival between 31 August 2009 and 31 August 2011. A list of approved festivals is available below.

Entry Deadline: 5pm, Friday 19 August 2011.
Broadcasters: £100.00 plus VAT (£120)per entry
Independents: £60.00 plus VAT (£72)per entry
There are some exciting changes to the British Academy Scotland Awards this year. For the first time, we will offer BAFTA in Scotland members the opportunity to vote on the majority of categories. (Please note, Student memberships are note eligible to vote).
Part of the Academy's remit is to promote excellence to as large an audience as possible. In order to fulfill this, we may intend to make clips of the nominated programmes for the British Academy Scotland Awards available to the public on the BAFTA in Scotland website.
By entering your programme for consideration, you are consenting to any clips (including any accompanying soundtrack synched with the clips) to be made available on the BAFTA in Scotland website for non-commercial purposes in the context of the Awards from November 2011.
