Nigel Pope has been making wildlife films for almost 20 years. A long-standing producer in the BBC Natural History Unit, his credits include Springwatch, Big Cat Week, Mountain Gorilla and Secret Life of Elephants which was nominated for an Emmy in 2011.

In 2010, he moved to Scotland where his company Maramedia have been working on an epic Natural History Landmark on the Hebrides and West Coast of Scotland for BBC Scotland - due to be transmitted in early 2013. In this special presentation for BAFTA Nigel will talk about his adventures in storytelling, creating new formats with animal stars and the challenges of working with sleeping gorillas!
